Out-of-State Plates 36

NM

Today's state is New Mexico: Land of Enchantment.

New Mexico Centennial plates.
Nice design, but the photos don't do them justice.

The latest. The teal is printed over the yellow and turns into Kelly green.
Otherwise a good design.

Out-of-State Plates 35

NJ

(Sung to the tune of a Camden NJ hometown booster song)
Today is, today is, today is New Jer-r-rrsey!

Old regular plate with stamped block letter typeface.

Low number specialty plate.

New regular plate with printed modified Highway Gothic typeface.
Much more legible -- good job, New Jersey!
:^)

Out-of-State Plates 32

NE

Today's state: Nebraska.

Curious but very legible "cut corners" typeface.
Reminds me of old Massachusetts paddle signs and the typrface they had.

Out-of-State Plates 31

Out-of-State Plates 30

MS

Today's State: Mississippi.

I happen to like the Mississippi Blues theme on the latest "standard edition" plates, although the Route Marker design I came up with a while back used the old Magnolia style and the hanging S's style state name.

Lamar County, Miss.

Madison County, Miss.

Mississippi's "Apportioned" plates for trucks (semi-trailers, etc.)

Tate County, Miss.

Grenada County, Miss.
Note the county name is printed! In Arial!!!

Elvis Presley and his Birthplace edition.
Minted for the create Foundation.
I think it's busy and hard to read, even though the numerals' typeface is good.

"Conserving Wildlife" edition.
I don't care for the typeface they used. Looks dorky.

"Farm Families of MS."
The watermark doesn't interfere with the numerals unlike the Elvis plate. :^)
And here the printed typeface matches their stamped typeface! :^)

Out-of-State Plates 29

MO

Today's state: Missouri, the "Show Me State."

Stamped typeface.

Printed typeface -- "Helvetica."
It's better than "Impact," but that's not saying much.

Stamped typeface again.

Out-of-State Plates 28

MN

Today's State: Minnesota.

This is the old stamped typeface.

This one has the new printed typeface.
It's actually more legible. Although, if
they wanted to, they could have made it blue.

This one has the new printed typeface, too.

Out-of-State Plates 27

Today's Plates: Michigan.

Plain Michigan.

This one features woods, city skyline, the Mackimac
Bridge, and a map view of the Great Lakes.

"Pure Michigan," when Granholm was governor.

9 September 2014: Here's another plate.
US Bicentennial edition, from 1976.
It has the best typeface from this state.
38 years old!
